Question Day

Yes, today is question day, but I have a few things I want to say first. :o)

Last night we went up to the Hills for our monthly dinner with the Paranormal Group.  As usual, it was a great night. Lots of lively and interesting conversations, lots of laughter, and as always, great food.

Last night I learned something about myself.  I was chatting with C about all things spiritual, and we got to talking abut objects holding energy.  I mentioned that I can't wear used or estate jewelery because I often pick up energies from those who have worn them before.  She asked if I can hold someone's jewelery and get a sense of that person.  I said I have never tried it.

So she gave me her ring to hold.  Almost immediately I get a real tightness in my chest and a real sense of dread.  Dread is a weird word, but is the only way I know how to describe it.  Turns out C is going through a break up and is feeling dread and it is manifesting as chest pain.  Very very bizarre.

So now I am intrigued.  I have heard of people being able to do this.  In fact, the psychic I sometimes see holds a piece of your jewelery to connect with you, but I never knew I could do this.  I mean, I knew I picked up energies from old jewelery, but I never thought that could translate to this.

I was completely freaked out last night, but now I want to see if this is something I can develop.  Who knows.  Maybe last night was a one off thing, but I am definitely keen to find out.  :o)

The rest of the night was mainly me listening to everyone else talk, which is usually the way.  I do feel like I take a lot from these dinners, but don't tend to contribute a great deal.  Hopefully that will change though.

Our meals took ages to come out last night for some reason. When they finally did the first lot had to go back. The reason? A possum piddled from the tree above us and caught the waiter square on, with the splash landing right into the meals he was holding!  It was the absolute funniest thing. I can just imagine the chef's reaction when the waiter took the meals back - "Are you serious? A possum pee'd in the meals? You expect me to believe that?" LOL

100 Days of Gratitude - Day 3
I am grateful for new friends and wonderfully open and accepting people that have come into my life this year.

Question Day Questions.
1)  What is your favourite sandwich filling?
2)  What's for dinner?
3)  Who was the last person you talked to?
4)  What can you hear right now?
5)  What is your favourite colour?

Holidays: Days 12 & 13: Hahndorf

Firstly I would like to say a huge than you to everyone for their positive comments yesterday.  I was really scared to put that all out there, but your love and support made me so glad I did.  :o)

Now, yesterday we headed to Hahndorf for the day and to stay the night.  We got there before we could check into the Motel and spent several hours wandering up and down Main Street.  There are so many interesting shops along the way it is easy to spend a day.

We stopped at a little place called Herbees for lunch.  I got the Swiss Brown Mushroom Burger,

And Ross got the Veggie baguette.

We split them in half and shared.  They were both great, but I have to say the burger was the best.  It was absolutely divine.

The Motel was small but lovely.  Only a handful of rooms, and they were small.  But they were clean, had a bed, a working kettle, and a bathroom.  What more do you need! LOL

Last night we went to the Bridgewater Inn for our Paranormal Group monthly catch up.  We missed last month so it was great to see everyone again.  The food was fantastic, but I forgot to take photos.  I had a Pumpkin Gnocchi that seriously melted in your mouth.  It was amazing.  It was well after midnight before we left, and it was nice only having a 10 minute drive to get home.

This morning we had breakfast in Hahndorf before heading home.

I got Belgian Waffles

OMG - They were so GOOD!

This afternoon I am heading over to Em's for a long overdue massage.  Then I am off to watch Ross bowl again tonight.

Holidays: Day 2: Baking

This morning started much the same as yesterday.  Woke up about 7.30 and read for a while.  By about 8.30 I was done reading so I got up, fed the menagerie, then got out the computer to find something to bake.

It had to be something I had the ingredients for.

Time to bake my famous Giant Honey Oat Cookies.  With a twist today.  This time I added a cup of almond slivers, and can I just say - YUMMO!!!!!  Made a massive difference.  I will definitely be doing that again.

While they were baking I sat at the computer for a while.  Next Wednesday is our monthly Paranormal Group Meetup.  Since we are both on leave we decided to stay up in the Adelaide Hills for the night.  So we have booked a room at the Stables Inn in Hahndorf.  It looks really nice.

The other thing I did was register the both of us for the upcoming Rogaine event in 2 weeks time.  It is a 6 hour night event, but our goal is to just do maybe 3 hours then camp the night.  I figure it will be a good introduction to the sport and a way to see if we enjoy it.  In honour of the registration Ross and I headed out to get...

My very own compass!  Plus an introductory book on map reading.  Ross has a compass and he knows how to read maps and everything, but if I am going to do this sport, then I need to learn as well.  I have had my first compass lesson, and I think I could use it to find my direction.  I have started reading the book and it is really interesting.  But there is a lot to learn.  Put it this way, I am glad that Ross will be there to do the actual map reading while I fumble along next to him.  :o)

New Groups and Question Day

I had an awesome night last night, although I am well and truly exhausted today.  It was an incredibly late night for me, and we were one of the first ones to leave!  We got there dead on 7, and I didn't want to be one of the first ones there so I made Ross wait in the car with me for 10 minutes or so.  I was so nervous.  I actually said to Ross while we were in the car that we should turn around and go home, but he wouldn't let me.  :o)

So we made our way in, found the group right away (from the telltale E.T. DVD sitting on the table which is their 'call sign' to new members) and felt right at home right away.  Everyone was so friendly and we had people to talk to all night.  I came away exhausted but happy, and hope that we can get there for next months catch up as well.

So, on to Question Day

1) If food had no calories or fat what would your favorite dessert be?
2) Did you ever have anything stolen from you?? Did you get it back?
3) What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
4) Do you always wear your seat belt?

5) What do you do to make your water more appetizing?

Daily Goals
1) Try and stay awake for the whole work day
2) Drink water
3) Do NOT buy chocolate
4) Actually tidy my desk today
5) Try and stay awake (yes I know I said that twice, but I feel it needs reinforcing.

Daily Tarot

Page of Wands
The Page of Wands indicates creative restlessness, pent up energy, and perhaps some frustration.  She has passion and desire, but she isn't quite sure how to put it to good use.  This is someone on the verge of a discovery or a new phase of life. The Page also represents messages, in this case something possibly about career, travel, or even something spiritual.

New People

Tonight Ross and I are going to a new Meetup Group.  I found this group through the same place as I found the Book Club.  It is called MeetUp and it is a worldwide website designed to get people meeting each other.  It has groups for just about every topic all over the place.

Anyway, tonights group is a meetup of people who are interested in the Paranormal and Unexplained.  It is up in the Adelaide Hills and both Ross and I are interested and are planning on going.  I am really nervous about it.  Mainly because it is a big(ish) group of people who all seem to know each other already.  Ross and I are the only new people going.  Plus I am a bit scared that I won't understand what people are talking about as some of the topics they discuss are things I have never heard of.  But Ross will be with me so I am sure I will be fine.

Daily Goals
1)  Drink water (this has been sadly lacking)
2)  Take my vitamins
3)  Eat better than yesterday
4)  Be brave and actually go tonight
5)  Tidy my desk because it is getting pretty overcrowded

Daily Tarot

4 of Cups
This card represents self-absorption, apathy and boredom.  You have been disappointed by somebody or something and now you are emotionally stuck.  You don't like what is in front of you and you can't be bothered to look further than your own brooding mind.  It is a shame because if you listen to the voice of wisdom you will look up and see that what you need is not that far away.
